Flowers and Tributes
People have different views of flowers at funerals.
Some think it's expected to have lots and lots of beautiful tributes and the more the better.
Some think just family flowers and that the money is better spent put towards a charity.
Some think it's just an expense that they would rather not have.
However, look at it a different way. It is the last time you are buying flowers for your loved one in their physical self. It can be a beautiful tribute that you may decide to split up and take away with you and you could have at home for a few days. You can get them preserved these days too. Having a beautiful unusual floral tribute or a living tribute can be such a lovely reminder of a funeral.
I have seen lots of incredible tributes in all sorts of different forms over the years, and in the photo's section you will see some of them. But here are a few more.
My friend Sophia Rose is my favourite florist and I know she is well respected and often recommended by our funeral directors in our area. She has twice been an award winning finalist and her flowers not only look full and beautiful but they often also smell gorgeous too, which is unusual these days. Sophia has a lovely workshop and also grows some of her own favourite flowers in her garden.
I have been the recipient of some of her flowers, and they last for ages. Sophia just puts so much love and care into her arrangements.
