Beyond the ordinary
What if you want something really out of the ordinary and you look at the
Funeral Director up the road with the net curtains that have hung in the window alongside the dusty fake flowers for centuries - you think hmm - they are not going to know what I want, or the flashy, all singing, all dancing office just see £ signs when you mention a fancy coffin...
What if I can match you up with a funeral director who will go out for their way to make sure you get everything you want at a good price, and will be transparent with the costs. It goes both ways,
Funeral Directors match celebrants to famililies but we can also match families to the right funeral directors.
These are my favourite hearses and Green's Carriage Masters supply these and many other options up and down the country - so if you want some out of the ordinary transport ....

Just throw me in a skip... dont get me started!
If I had a £10 for every time Ih heard that, I wouldnt have to work, it's a good job I dont do it for the money! Crazy Coffins UK, do have a fabulous range, including a skip! www.crazycoffins.co.uk
I honestly think the coffin is just as important as every other part of the day. A lot of people don’t want to spend money on it because they think, “Well, it’s just going to be buried or burned.” But what if we looked at it differently? It’s the last vessel you—or your loved one—will ever travel in. That alone makes it pretty special, doesn’t it?
There are so many brilliant options out there now. Even the simpler, cheaper coffins can be made really personal. Families can write messages, stick on photos, or drape them with something meaningful—like a favourite blanket, a piece of clothing, or even a flag. Then there are picture coffins (some of them are stunning), printed cardboard ones, and gorgeous eco-friendly choices like willow, bamboo, or banana leaf. Some even have handles you can weave flowers through. It’s the little touches that can make all the difference.
And then there’s Ghana—honestly, if you’ve never looked up Ghanaian coffins, you should. They’re absolutely incredible. Beautifully crafted and designed to reflect the person’s life, job, or personality—think a fish-shaped coffin for a fisherman or a camera for a photographer. Of course, bringing something like that into the UK would need special permissions, but with the right Funeral Director, there’s usually a way to find a compromise.
The main thing is: don’t feel stuck with what’s in the brochure. Shop around. Make sure whatever you choose meets regulations, of course—but have a look online. You might find the one that feels just right—and it might not be in the standard catalogue!
Glitter coffins, colours, flowers, fishing, footy, cricket, rugby, bowls, spitfires, planes, scenery, anything goes, the only limit is your imagination.
Most coffins start from about £500 and go up to whatever you want to pay!
What happens when your loved one has chosen a direct cremation?
Well, you can always choose to have a funeral that you want. A funeral is for the living. People choose directs because they dont want a funeral, They dont generally think about the family and friends who would like to have a funeral. You may not want to go against their wishes, but if you are the next of kin, you are entitled to change the plan if you are not happy with having a direct cremation.
However, if you do not want to go against your loved ones last wishes, well you can think of other options...
"Thanks again, Lynn. Your support was invaluable and I actually feel like a huge weight has lifted. All the horrid stuff was wiped away by the gathering, scattering the ashes felt like a really positive thing. I think **** would have approved, I guess that was the whole point.
