Crematoriums and Cemetaries
It's nice to look at websites of crematoriums, but usually the pictures can be of them when they were first built. So if it is a 'newer' crematorium, they do tend to look a bit sparse. When the plants and flowers have been bedded in for a couple of years and the crematorium gardens take on a different feel all together. Different seasons and times always make a difference too.
Crematoriums and cemetaries are very peaceful places and some have restrictions on what you can place on graves and benches. So please be mindful of what tributes you want to place when you are remembering your loved ones on birthdays and anniversaries. Some places do not allow balloons and scarves to be left on graves. Solar lights and little memorial signs may be allowed but it is always best to check.

Above are two crematoriums that are quite new. Cam Valley in Great Chesterford on the left and Woollensbrook in Hoddesdon, on the right. These are both owned by the Westerleigh Group and their decor has a very light, warm, neutral feel, with wood and padded seats. Westerleigh crematoriums are all very similar and they are all very welcoming.
Each having their own little quirks but all very much the same layout.
A lovely large screen on both sides of the catafalque for the visual tributes to be displayed.
The options of heavy curtains or a voile net curtain, or, as we often see these days, the option to just leave them open.
They have lovely large screens for the visual tributes and have plenty of seating in their airy and light service rooms.
Both use the Obitus music system which is useful because they have the best video downloads and keepsakes
which you can see on the shop page.
